Dreamware's browser-local birthplace search consumes a versioned static catalog generated from GeoNames data. The catalog loads only when place search is used; typed birthplace queries are filtered in the browser and are never sent to a third-party service.

GeoNames Gazetteer

Dreamware's catalog is generated from the GeoNames cities500world extract and the full United States populated-place extract. Each selected record includes WGS84 latitude/longitude and an IANA timezone.
